All These Games Aren't Helping - Dowie

Iain Dowie feels that all the games Coventry City are playing at the moment is not helping his side get the training they need.

"If you've got a couple of games a week it's very difficult to get your proper work done," said Dowie, who was again the subject of media speculation this morning that he will walk out of City in order to join Leicester with one bookmaker offering odds of 4/6 that he will.

"For instance it's hard to prepare for playing Ipswich away when you're playing Palace on the Tuesday as we will do. "Because of the recovery time you have to do things a lot shorter and sharper. "You can go through things on the video but it's not quite the same as doing it on the pitch. "It might have been good for us if we had been able to keep things going without the international break."

Acting Chairman Geoffrey Robinson MP mocked the speculation regarding Dowie leaving and said to the CT which itself is subject to a managerment buy-out: "As far as I am concerned there's nothing in this. "We have had no approach and Iain has a three year contract and is committed to Coventry City,as are his backroom staff."

Former City boss Peter Reid is one name doing the rounds about the next manager of the side who play at the Crisp Bowl. Reid lasted six months as City manager in 2004/05 and was replaced by Micky Adams who kept City in the Championship.
