Coventry City manager Steven Pressley felt that the 3-2 Capital One Cup exit at Leyton Orient last night was one lesson the Sky Blues could learn from.
City put in an excellent, workmanlike performance, despite having Carl Baker sent off, and should have won when they were awarded a 77th minute penalty with the score at 2-2. However, Leon Clarke hit a poor spot kick which Jones got down to his right to save and eleven minutes later, Kevin Lisbie headed home to knock City out of the competition at the first hurdle.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said:"It does sometimes seem that everything and everybody is against us but once again I was tremendously proud of my players tonight.
“They gave it everything and I think the way the fans cheered them off the pitch at the end proved that.
“All you can do is learn your lessons and move on but, as I keep saying, I don’t think there’s too much wrong with this side. Yes, we could do with a little bit of experience here and there, but a bit of luck would help as well.”
