The 2013/2014 Coventry Charity Football Cup, sponsored by The Premier Group, got underway this afternoon with seven First Round ties.
Alvis of the Midland Combination Premier Division and Charity Cup Holders after their victory over Bolehall Swifts at the Ricoh Arena back in April, were drawn at home to Dunlop and progressed to a Second Round tie against their current landlords Coventry Copsewood with a 7-1 victory over Dunlop.
Biggest shock of the First Round was the defeat of Midland Combination Premier Division side and 2013 Finalists Bolehall Swifts who were beaten 3-2 at home by Coventry Alliance Premier Division side Folly Lane.
The other major shock was Midland Combination Division Two side Leamington Hibernian being thrashed 6-1 at home by Whitnash Town in a local derby.
In their first ever Coventry Charity Cup game, Coventry United won 5-4 at Triumph after extra time but Tom Cudworth's Sphinx & Social side were beaten 3-2 at Sphinx Drive by Racing Club Warwick.
In the other game, The Bell/AEI Rugby won 5-0 at Stockton.
