The loan of former Coventry City loanee Andre Wright to Yeovil Town has been cancelled.
Wright was loaned out by West Brom for the rest of the season. however, as the striker had played for West Brom's U23's in an EFL Trophy tie at Millwall, this meant if he played for Yeovil, he would have broken the F.L. rules on the number of clubs that a player can play for in a season and the deal was cancelled with immediate effect.
Albion’s Director of Football Administration Richard Garlick said to his club's website: “It’s a great shame because it would have been another excellent development opportunity for Andre.
“At the time of Andre’s Checkatrade Trophy appearance, the rules were unclear regarding whether this was designated a first team or Under 23 match. We had not had the approach from Coventry at that point.
“We have checked with the Premier League and unfortunately they have now confirmed the Football League’s interpretation of the rules.”
