Former Coventry City defender Andy Whing has joined Kiddermnster Harriers.

After retiring from playing due to a number of injuries, Whing, took his coaching badges and became a coach with Oxford United.

Whing will now head up Kidderminster's U23's side as head coach and speaking about him, Harriers Chairman Colin Gordon told his club's website: “I’ve known Andy for a number of years and this is a bit of a coup for us, make no mistake.

“He’s been coaching at a great club and a great level and he’s eager to take on the challenge here and really make the U23s project his own.

“It’s vital that all of our teams interconnect and work well together – we’ve seen that already with the likes of our U18s and U19s, but we really need the U23s to lead the way in that respect.”
