Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that if he was at another club and had gone ten game without a win, he would have been sacked.
Speaking about Alan Irvine's sacking at Preston, Coleman said to the CT: “I was absolutely flabbergasted. “He’s a good manager who took them to the play-offs last season but suddenly he’s gone.
“Preston had only won once in 10 games but I went 10 games without a win so I’m fortunate that I had a chairman who was rock solid. Maybe if I was somewhere else I would have been out of the door because you get weak chairmen – but thankfully I’ve got a strong one who is still thinking long-term.
“This club has never had a sniff of getting back into the Premier League since they were relegated but there have been a lot of changes and that’s not always good.
“We’ve had to adjust our budget because of the changing financial position but we’ve still brought in some good players and we’ll continue to do that. And if we did manage to get back into the Premier League we’d have a good chance of staying there because everything else is in place here.”
