Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton was delighted with his side's 2-1 win over Coventry City this afternoon.
Speaking to the Press Association, Appleton said: "I thought the players applied themselves really well in tough circumstances.
"I'm delighted for them because they've put a lot of work in during the last couple of weeks. Sometimes you get your rewards in football and we got that against Coventry.
"The biggest disappointment was that we needed to be more ruthless. We have to make sure we don't give teams opportunities to get themselves back into the game.
"We had numerous opportunities and that's something we need to work on. But what I will say is that sometimes it just a case of taking chances early. As soon as you take that extra touch, it gives keepers and defenders an opportunity to get back on to you."
