Adam Armstrong has said that Coventry City's 3-1 win against Sheffield United was a brilliant way to end the season.
Armstrong told the Coventry Telegraph: “It was a brilliant way to end the season at home and I think we needed that performance after last week’s display at Doncaster,” he said.
“I thought we gave it our all from the start and the two early goals killed them. They came onto us in the second half a bit but we expected that so the third goal was crucial in killing them off.
“Last week’s performance wasn’t acceptable and all the lads knew that and have been working hard to put that right.”
The win ended United’s faint hopes of making a late surge into the top six.
“I think a lot of teams have thrown it away this season as well as us,” he said.
“When we did fall away from the play-offs it was hard to take because we know how good the lads are.”
