It seems that there is some interest in professional clubs using artificial pitches to play their league and cup matches.
With technology having moved on from the plastic pitches of the 1990's, clubs are now starting to show an interest in using them and last week, Greg Dyke on behalf of the Football Association sent out a letter, concerning the use of artificial turf pitches.
This morning, the Football Conference have issued a statement saying: "The Conference Directors unanimously agreed to seek a joint meeting as soon as possible with representatives of the Football Association and the Football League to discuss matters of common interest relating to the use of artificial surfaces.
The Conference will issue a further statement once that meeting has taken place."
