Two charges of assault have been withdrawn as yesterday, Coventry City Associate Director and Nuneaton Town Chairman Ian Neale agreed to be bound over by Nuneaton Magistrates Court.
Mr Neale had pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting a man and woman in Nuneaton on November 12 and with no evidence being offered by the Crown Prosecution Service, he was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in the sum of £500.
Costs to the defence were also awarded.
Ian Neale admitted that he was sad this had come to court, the granting of his application for his legal costs was vindication that his plea of not guilty was justified and he thanked those who supported him through this difficult period.
