So far no arrangements have been made but the new City boss told the CT:
"What tends to happen with those deals is that managers have inquiries, and I have had a couple myself about taking players on loan, and I have said let me get to see them again in pre-season and see how we go.
"And after that when we get into the first week of August that's when all those sorts of deals are done.
"But I have already made a couple of calls and registered interest and they are guys that I know and have a respect for, and they for me, so hopefully, all being well they will come back injury free and if they want to join us then we could get some really good front players to add to what we have already got.
"Every season clubs can have an X-Factor player.
"If you look at the season Hull got up they had Fraizer Campbell on loan from Manchester United. Newcastle and West Brom were a bit different last season because they had a lot of X-Factor players.
"But I have done it before and I had Ben Foster and Chris Eagles at Watford who did well for me, so every team in the Championship is trying to get that player who is that little bit different and who can do that little bit more.
"You have to have a team that can score goals and that's the big thing with me, scoring goals."
