Hull City are understood to have sacked manager Nicky Barmby.
The former England international took over on January 10th when Nigel Pearson returned to Leicester City and took the Tigers to a play-off spot, only for them to fall away with home defeats to Coventry City amongst others in a spell of poor form.
Barmby is understood to have made public comments about the club's finances and has now paid the price.
Former Forest and Derby boss Billy Davies and former Tigers boss Phil Brown have already been named amongst the early runners for the vacancy.
