The Irish midfielder/striker joined City from Arsenal two seasons ago and has had twelve starts this season with twelve appearances as substitute. He has scored four times for the first team this season and notched three goals in two games for the reserves,scoring in Monday's 1-1 draw with Fulham.
The loan will see him eligible to play in the play-offs should the Hillsborough based club qualify.
