Barrett made 34 starts plus 25 sub appearances for City before leaving in 2005. The Republic Of Ireland international, who had been at Sheffield Wednesday and Livingston on loan joined Falkirk and after recovering from a knee injury.
He scored 11 goals in 41 (+13 sub) appearances but was released earlier in the season.
Interest from St Johnstone was seized upon and Barrett scored once in four (plus five sub appearances) to help the Perth based side get promotion back to the Scottish Premier League.
