Coventry Sphinx hammered Barwell, who are two divisions higher 6-0 tonight at Sphinx Drive.
Luke Hopkins side took a 23rd minute lead with a lovely twenty yarder from Jackson Downie and the product of Sphinx's youth system, bagged a second in the 35th minute when he slipped the ball under the keeper before completing his hat-trick with a lob in the 38th minute.
Both sides made changes at the break but Sphinx went four goals up in the 50th minute when club captain Ashley Jackson, who had a fine game, was left unmarked to head home a free kick.
In the 66th minute, Sphinx were awarded a penalty when Rickie Cutting was brought down and Nathaniel McKenzie stepped up and duly dispatched the ball into the net for the fifth.
With fifteen minutes remaining, Sphinx, who finish their pre-season campaign with a home game against Bedworth United in a week's time, were gifted a sixth goal thanks to the Barwell keeper dropping the ball over his own goal-line.
Barwell had a late flurry which saw Sphinx keeper Carl O'Neill produce a couple of outstanding saves late on but Luke Hopkins' side had done a thoroughly professional job with a 6-0 victory.
