Peter Beagrie praised the Coventry City support for the way they handled themselves during the protests in the 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United.
Understanding the fact that having the Sky cameras at the game gave the City support the chance to protest to a global audience, Peter Beagrie said on Sky Sports: "We cannot condone any fans going on the pitch but it was well organised not aggressive and thought through but everything has fell on deaf ears
"But they are in the eyes of the nation now and they have a platform but Coventry City fans handled it really well as did the police and stewards who never got into them at all. It was really a reasonable protest if there is ever such a thing.
"The worrying thing is that the financial situation does not look to be getting any better and whilst we don't condone it, we do understand it."
