2013 Ladbrokes PDC World Darts Championship participant Steve Beaton is happy they way Mark Robins is managing Coventry City since he took over the reigns of the then struggling nPower League One side back in September, writes Ziad Chaudry.
“Robins at the moment has done brilliant,” said the 48-year-old ‘Bronzed Adonis’ who will be watching his beloved Sky Blues take on MK Dons on December 29.
“We are half way but I’m not saying we’ve got a chance of winning the title but you never know we might be in the play-offs.
“But if they keep winning then I’ll keep winning!”
The 1996 BDO world champion whitewashed Australian Kyle Anderson 3 sets to 0 in round one and faces Aldershot’s world number 3 James Wade, 29, this afternoon at 3.20pm at Alexandra Palace for a place in the last 16 facing the winner of Dean Winstanley and Vincent van der Voort.
At the same stage five years ago Wade aka The Machine put out the Coventry man in a seventh set decider: “Me and Wadey will have a good game so whoever’s on top will win.”
