One the players heavily linked with either a permanent or loan move to Coventry City James Beattie has had a price tag of £1.5m put on him by Stoke manager Tony Pulis.
Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd is frantically trying to finalise his squad before the start of the new season and is hunting for two forwards and a centre half.
Beattie was thought to be one of the forwards Boothroyd was looking at, but the £1.5m price may be too much for him to consider.
Boothroyd admitted yesterday he had funds available to sign new players on permanent deals, but would prefer to use less of the money by bringing in on loan players from the Premiership.
Beattie is desperate to leave Stoke after a very public falling out with Tony Pulis left the striker missing out on being picked on a regular basis for Stoke.
Stoke are keen to recoup some of the money they paid for him and to get some of their higher wage earners off their wage bill.
