Coventry City captain Stephen Wright has said that being captain is a great honour.

Speaking to the club's website: the defender said: "The gaffer came up to me and asked me if I would consider the captain's role which was good for me. It's a great honour.

"But on the pitch, to me, it just means you go into the centre circle before a game for the coin toss but outside of that I don't really think about it too much.

"I've always been a talker on the pitch anyway so there's no real difference to the way I play. There's no added pressure or responsibility because I will still go about my business the same way I've always done."

"I always have a chat with the younger lads anyway and despite the result on Wednesday night I thought they did really well. But Barnsley is going to be another tough fixture because they are a good physical side.

"It was good to get that first win out of the way on Sunday against Ipswich and now the aim is to go to Bransley and try and get another one on Saturday."
