Coventry City winger David Bell is delighted to be back in the fold.

Bell has returned to the first team after fracturing a bone in his foot in his second training session after coming back from a hip injury.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Bell who celebrated his birthday yesterday, said: “I have been at my lowest over the last ten months; it’s been really hard.

“I have had injuries before but this has been the worst time for me; I’ve been very down.

"I can’t believe how unlucky I have been. You begin to wonder if you have run over a black cat or something.

“People do judge and label you as injury prone but at 28 I have had 350 games so I have obviously played games at some point, just not many while I have been at Cov.

"But hopefully my luck will change now and also for the club with things starting to look up.

“I have been training well and the gaffer has obviously seen something in me because I’ve hardly played any football and he’s still put me in the squad.

“I am loving every minute of training again, even in the freezing cold, snow and rain and hopefully now I can repay the faith the manager is showing in me with some good performances on the pitch and helping this club achieve something this year.”
