Coventry City winger David Bell needs an ankle operation.
The former Norwich man, who hit City's winning goal on Saturday against Doncaster Rovers with a forty yard drive from a Neil Sullivan clearance, told the CT: "I had a bit of a set back with my right ankle this year.
"I have got some floating bone and I have torn the ligament on the bone a bit, so it's a little bit of a mess in there and needs flushing out really.
"I will get that sorted in the summer, get in a good pre-season and come back stronger and fitter then ever next year. Hopefully, I''l be able to wade in with a fair few goals next season.
"I have spoken to the boss and he says that once we know we are safe and can't get in the play-offs - in that no-mans land so to speak - he is happy for me to go and have the operation done.
"We are on fifty points and I think we need another win or maybe another couple to put us in that safety bracket and then I can get the op done and come back fighting fight.
"At the moment when I play, I can't do anything for a couple of days after. I will maybe train on a Tuesday and have Wednesday off and then train Thursday and Friday to play on Saturday.
"When we play Saturday/Tuesday, it is difficult for me to fit into training because I need that time for it to settle down.
"Although I have played a lot of matches, I have missed a lot of training, so I am looking forward to getting my operation done.
