The chances of Craig Bellamy facing Coventry City are petering out by the day with news from Tyneside that the much despised Welshman is training on his own after refusing to apologise for his behaviour over the weekend and an interview with Sky Sports News.
The Newcastle Board have said that they will listen to offers for the striker who launched a volley of hatred at Coventry City and its supporters when he left for Newcastle in 2001,however only Stoke City have made an inquiry about a possible loan deal.
Newcastle Board member Freddie Shepherd told The Journal: "We haven't had a serious offer for him in the last 48 hours.
"There has been one enquiry with a view to a loan deal, but that's it. "There has not been one major club express any interest in him whatsoever. If something does happen in that respect, then we'll consider the offer or offers.
"But nobody is kicking my door down and the fax machine is quiet. He's damaged his reputation - hopefully, not beyond repair.
"It's all gone very quiet. There have been no serious enquiries and no firm offers. If a club does express an interest, then we will listen to what they have to say, but nothing looks like happening.
"When Craig said what he said, just where did he think he could go from here? "Where could he possibly have a better career right now?
"Time is a great healer and if Craig moves on, so be it. But as far as his Newcastle career is concerned, it will be very, very difficult."
