Former Coventry City forward Craig Bellamy is backing an appeal for funds for a statue for Fred Keenor.
The player who is on loan from Manchester City to Cardiff City, said the Cardiff born Keenor who was part of the club's 1927 FA Cup winning team had an iconic place in Cardiff's history and he was delighted to back the appeal.
Like Bellamy, Kennor captained his home town club and country.
