Coventry City midfielder Billy Daniels is after the place of Franck Moussa.

Speaking about the competition for places in the first team starting eleven, Moussa told the Coventry Telegraph: Billy’s after my shirt.  “He and Josh are midfielders and they have been in and around the first team and desperate for their chance.

“I’m sure the manager is going to try a few different things, certainly going on the players he’s using and things he’s doing in training. And people are working really hard because they want to be part of what’s happening next season.

“The younger players are no different to anyone else and want to get their opportunity on the pitch and to prove that they are good enough to play for the club.

“Billy was playing football for the first team at the start of the season so I guess he’s already proved he can play. Josh has been out injured a long time but from what I am hearing he’s got a lot of ability.

“As for the rest of the lads, many of them have trained with the first team this season and there’s no-one that seems out of place or who shouldn’t be given a chance, and hopefully if they do get their chance they’ll show everyone they’re good enough to represent the first team.

“I am not that old myself but obviously have a bit of experience and whatever I can do to help in building the team and passing anything on, I will do that.

“Those boys are hungry anyway and we have a really good blend of young and experienced lads all pulling in the right direction. And the likes of Billy are certainly keeping me on my toes.”
