David Bell has won the Mitre Coventry City Goal for 2009.

The winger of the vote had 42% for his goal against Doncaster Rovers last season. Second was Sammy Clingan's free kick at Preston North End with 30% with one of Clinton Morrison's goals against Ipswich on the opening day of this season getting third place.

Speaking to the Club Website, a delighted Bell, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today, said: "I'm obviously delighted to have my goal picked as their best for last year and I certainly still haven't forgotten about it.

"If I speak to people they still bring it up which is a really nice feeling but to be honest I want to get more goals for Coventry and have more goals to talk about so fingers crossed I can do that.

"It was a great way to get off the mark for Coventry City and it's great to know it is being considered for the Mitre awards."
