Bjarni Gudjonsson has admitted that he is glad to be back at Highfield Road.

He told the Coventry Evening Telegraph: "It is unbelievable that it has taken so long to happen because it has been on the cards since the end of last season. "There were complications with my German club Bochum but that is all cleared up now. "I am very pleased and if everything works out I hope it is going to be a very good move for me.

"The manager said he wanted to keep me and Stevie Warnock so at least he has got one of us and I am sure he is going to do a good job in the transfer market.

"He has already got Stephen Hughes and Tim Sherwood in and I sure they will prove to be great signings for the club. "I have heard rumours they are trying to get Warnock back on loan and that would be great.

"I knew I would have a better chance of playing regularly at Coventry and I like England more than Germany because I think the people are friendlier.

"When I came over from Germany to England in the summer and flew over and landed it was like I was coming home, so that was probably the biggest part.

"Obviously hearing the fans singing, 'sign him up, sign him up,' is always nice to hear when you are out on the pitch because it is always nice to feel welcome, and that's what they did. "So my aim this year is to play as many games as I can for Coventry and do well for the club and help push them to promotion."
