"I suppose 1-1 was a fair result at the end of it," he said after the game at Highfield Road.
"We're in a position where every game is vital to us. It's the standards of our performances that I am looking at.
"If we can get that consistency we won't be far away from the play-offs."
The Sky Blues boss also admitted his desire to turn goalscorer Stephen Warnocks loan move from Liverpool into a permanant deal.
"We would be delighted if we could sort out a permanent transfer to keep Stevie here."
