Coventry City have received a letter frrom FIFA President Sepp Blatter which is a half baked attempt at an apology for comments made over Stern John saying Peter Reid had tried to stop him playing international football.
Graham Hover said: "We have received a letter from Mr Blatter, which says that he picked up the information from somebody he thought he could rely on but now accepts that Coventry City are fully supportive of any player who is called up for international duty.
"It doesn't really amount to a proper apology, but we are talking about Mr Blatter here and we would have been surprised if he had lowered himself to say sorry to Coventry City. It's as good as we're going to get, so as far as we are concerned, the matter is closed."
