Coventry Blaze were 5-1 winners tonight in an Elite League game at Nottingham Panthers tonight
There were no goals at the end of the first period. In the second,Adam Calder gave Paul Thompson's side the lead with the Blaze five on three.
In the 31st minute, Dan Carlson made it 2-0, assisted by Huppe and Martin.
Nottingham pulled one back through McAslen five minutes later, only for Adam Calder to net ten seconds later.
In to the third period, Sylvain Cloutier at 41:12, assisted by Curtis Huppe made it 4-1 to Coventry with Barrie Moore adding a fifth after 51.23.
Tomorrow night, the Blaze face Edinburgh Capitals at the Sky Dome. Edinburgh won 4-3 in overtime at Basingstoke tonight. Second placed Sheffield Steelers are still four points behind Coventry after beating Manchester Phoenix 5-2. In the other games, Cardiff beat Hull 4-1 and and Belfast beat Newcastle 4-1.
Before the game with the Capitals, there will be a minutes silence for trainer John Crook who passed away on February 25th. The players will now have the initials JC on the back of their helmets for every game and a banner will be raised in the final home game of the season.
