Former Coventry City player, twice manager and one of our own Bobby Gould was the guest as part of Coventry Sphinx's 70th Anniversary Celebrations on Saturday night.
On a evening at Sphinx's Sphinx Drive HQ, attended by former Sphinx players, managers, supporters, those involved with other non-league teams and cups as well as Coventry City Supporters, Sphinx Chairman Dannie Cahill welcomed everyone.
Bobby Gould got up and said that he was blessed for the life he had, playing 488 games and scoring 180 goals.
He spoke fate and the South goal at Wembley and his best signing was a Dyson DC40 apart from Stuart Pearce!
Working with Ron Greenwood at West Ham was important to Bobby who learned a lot about playing from him.
His Wimbledon days and using emotional intelligence were also mentioned in an excellent speech and an excellent evening.
