Bookies favour Posh draw

The general consensus of opinion among the bookies is that the most likely outcome of Saturday's clash between Peterborough and Coventry City will be a draw.

Although 'City have lost just once in their last eight games and will go into the game full of confidence of winning, only Derby County have, this season has beaten Peterborough  by more than two goals. Peterborough might be right at the bottom of the Championship, but they are certainly no pushovers.

Looking at the betting markets at the moment, a draw is the favourite outcome with on line firm Jaxx.com price Peterborough as their marginal 31/20 favourites to win.

However, Coventry fans expecting a win might prefer Victor Chandler’s 7/4 odds for a Coventry win.  Paddy Power are offering 5/2 for Coventry to keep a clean sheet .

The most popular result in the correct score markets is 1-1, priced at 11/2 by Ladbrokes.

Of the other markets, Coventry are 21/20 (Victor Chandler) to open the scoring, with Freddie Eastwood (remember his hat trick at The Ricoh in December?) offered at 6/1 by Totesport to strike first.

Bet365 is offering an even money price for the game’s total goal minutes to exceed 130, this figure was 278 minutes when the sides met in December. Internet firm Betdaq post 11/10 about the match having more than two goals.

In Betfred’s handicap market, Coventry are a generous-looking 4/1 to win when kicking off with a one goal deficit and Partybets also offer 4/1 against the Sky Blues leading at 45 and at 90 minutes.

888Sport are offering a generous 23/10 against the draw and Stan James’s 11/2 for Coventry to emerge victorious following a drawn first period.

For th more cautious punter, there is William Hill’s 7/1 for City to register yet another 1-0 win.
