Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd and Ricoh Arena head honcho Daniel Gidney will both give speeches next Wednesday to promote a Legacy League aimed at girls in school years eight and nine.
Their speeches will be part of a seminar which will be held in the legends lounge at 2pm aimed at enouraging a legacy league to be formed in the local area.
Mr Gidney told the club website: "The plan is to encourage at least eight schools in Coventry and the same number in Warwickshire to compete in a shadow tournament during the Olympic.
"We would like each school to have a squad of 16 which will mean 256 more players will be playing girls' football.
"The overall aim is to create one new girls club in both Coventry and Warwickshire and for a Legacy League to be underway by the new school year in September 2011 and, crucially, for it to continue beyond the Olympics.
"We can only achieve this with the support and dedication of teachers at schools in Coventry and Warwickshire but we are fully committed to help make the legacy league become a reality.
"We hope as many teachers and students as possible will be able to attend our Kick-Off launch on March 9 to hear more details and join in this exciting new venture."
