Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd has admitted he is in regular contact with Marlon King who was released from prison a couple of weeks ago.
Boothroyd said some Premiership clubs are interested in signing the the former Wigan striker and so Coventry City may miss out on getting the 30 year old hit man.
Boothroyd said, “Marlon has been out of prison for a couple of weeks and has spent some time with his family so he’s starting to think about his future. I’m on the phone to him all the time because I’ve a relationship with him, but he’s talking to a lot of people at the moment and a couple of Premier League clubs are interested.
“Should we decide to go down that route we’d be in there fighting for his signature with others. When the time’s ripe we’ll have a chat at the club and decide what we’re going to do. That’s something I don’t see happening today or tomorrow but it could be the day after, you just never know."
