Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has come to the defence of his under fire strikers praising them for their commitment and performances.
Boothroyd in particular praised the under fire Clive Platt for his work and quality. During the cup tie at Birmingham, the city support were calling for Platt to be replaced by Eastwood who started the game on the bench. Many fans don't think the King and Platt partnership is working as well as the King and Eastwood partnership.
With City fans calling for Eastwood to replace Platt for the second half, Boothroyd held off until ten minutes from the final whistle before making the switch.
Boothroyd offered his opinion saying to the CT: "We've produced some terrific football in the last two or three weeks, probably the best we've played as a team, but although the performances have been good we haven't been getting the results, whether through individual errors or naivety and it's the results that people look at."
"We can't keep getting slapped in the face. At some point we've got to stop and say 'let's get back to doing what we do best. I thought Clive was causing absolute havoc."
"Both their centre-halves were looking to the bench to come off at one point because I don't think they fancied it until he ran out of steam in the end. Freddy provides different problems. He likes to play in the pocket just in front of the back four but they had Keith Fahey sitting there."
"That's my choice, I've got a few strikers to choose from and you've got to be able to win games more than one way."
