Boothroyd Is A Fan Of Loans

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that he is a fan of the loan system that is in place in this country.

Speaking to the CT, the City manager said: "Everybody benefits from a loan deal like Danny Ward's - we get a really good player, Owen Coyle gets a player who's learning and growing through regular games and Danny can only get better.

"That's why we sent Jermaine Grandison (Pictured below) off to Tranmere. He's a good lad but he's not played anywhere near enough football and so he needs that experience. Now he has got to look after himself - live right, train right, play right and when he comes back he'll realise what he has got here.

"Some players need to be cossetted - they get lovely pitches to play on every day, nice food in the canteen, they're told where they've got to be, what they've got to wear and what they have got to do.

"Going off somewhere where you have to wash your own kit can give you a little bit of a wake up.

"I'm hoping he'll come back a lot more mature than when he left and I'm sure that a lot of centre forwards in League One will make sure of that."
