Coventry City's new manager Aidy Boothroyd has said he is keen to start working with his assistant coach Steve Harrison, even though the two have never met.

Boothroyd starts work today and among the first things on his agenda is to meet the backroom staff, Harrison among them.

Boothroyd is aware of the reputation Harrison has and is keen to make use of it. He said to the CT: "I haven't worked with Steve Harrison before but I know of his reputation and I am looking forward to it. I am coming in on Monday to see the staff and hopefully put everyone's mind at rest, because I think that's important.

"I want to know what they have been doing and what the close-season programmes are. I have got a meeting with Steve Ogrizovic and the other guys and I will be talking to the Pro-Zone boys."

"I want to find out what everybody does so that when they come back for the new season I will have formulated things in my mind and they will know exactly what I expect.

"When I went to Colchester, I worked with the staff there because there's no point in throwing the baby out with the bath water. Usually a lot of things in place already work well, but if I think we can improve the way we do things I'll be asking for those improvements to be made."

"It's just a case of making sure that everyone knows where they stand, but I can tell you that things will be very disciplined. We will have a tight ship, there's no doubt about that because I'm not in the business of running holiday camps."
