Former Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has been mentioned as a possible manager for Port Vale.
The club is going through something of an upheaval following the departure of Micky Adams to Sheffield United and Jim Gannon following an alleged falling out with his assistant and there has been news that the latest incumbent Gareth Owen is set to leave as some supporters boycott season tickets until there is a change in the board.
Boothroyd was deservedly sacked after a run which saw the Sky Blues not win from December 4th against Middlesbrough until he was dismissed in March by the then board including Ray Ranson who personally appointed him.
His tactics and style of management which certainly did not get the best out of the players available did not help his cause, whilst signing players like Roy O'Donovan and not playing him and a knack of being able to spend the club's money, also gave cause for concern.
