Boothroyd: Never Lost Such A One Sided Game

Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd has said he has never seen such a one sided game where the dominant side went on to lose.
He praised Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan for his heroics in keeping the score down and said he was the man of the maach after pulling off a string of superb saves to deny Coventry the win they deserved.
Boothroyd said to the CT: "Andy Lonergan was superb today, the man of the match. We hit the post, the bar, had them cleared off the line. We've dominated the whole game but you have to get the fundamentals right and we didn't."
"I've been involved in a lot of games and I cannot remember a more one-sided game, so you come in and shake your head, but that's how it is. That is football. When you think you are doing well it kicks you in the teeth and you have to start again."
"We are just bemused how we haven't won with over 20 shots. They hung on and credit to them, but over the course of a 46-game season if we perform like that we will win a lot more than we lose. I know for a fact we will play a lot worse than that and win."
