Talking about the goalless draw at Hinckley on Saturday, Boothroyd said he was happy and unconcerned about the lack of goals.
He said to the CT: "These games are always about getting fit. We are two weeks into the pre-season and we have worked very hard."
"We trained on Saturday morning and then went to play a Hinckley team who were right up for it, running around and fighting and scrapping, so I am not really bothered, to be perfectly honest. We live in an age now where everyone is expecting immediate results, but I think everyone can see the way we played and what we are trying to do."
"We are trying to attack and we are trying to win, and you can see from the two teams I put out, a 60-minute team and a 30 minute team, that there are bits and pieces in each that when we put it together it is going to make it a force."
"We will score goals, I am convinced of that. That's what Gary McSheffrey is here for and when he gets his timing right he will bag a few."
