"We have had a really good clear-the-air chat. Keiren came out and said what he feels and I have total respect for that", said Boothroyd to the CT .
"I would love him to stay but every player has a right to run down their contract.
"I have said many times that I absolutely love him as a goalkeeper and as a person he is a terrific guy, and I am enjoying working with him.
"He tests me but then I think I test him as well so I think we will good for each other and for the club in general.
"We have just decided that what is really important now is not me throwing my toys out of the pram, not Kerien throwing his toys out of the pram; we'll leave that to his little baby daughter while we focus on Coventry City, Saturday's game and getting us up the table.
"I have my opinions about certain things but what I will never do is cut my nose off to spite my face, and I will never cut the club's nose off because that's the position I hold.
"We have got the best goalkeeper in the division by a long way and he has got all the attributes to go to the very top.
"People talk about his size but he is as big as Pepe Reina and as agile and he can deliver the ball as well as Petr Cech, so we have got a fantastic asset.
"We will work together and at the end of the season he might be begging me to stay because we might be in the Premier League!"
