Aidy Boothroyd will meet his goal keeper Kieren Westwood later today to have talks about his future.
Westwood will return to the club today after returning from international duty with the Republic of Ireland and will be called into Boothroyd's office for a frank exchange of views.
Boothroyd was not happy with some of the comments made by Westwood to the press and he wants to know exactly why the 25 year old goal keeper has persistently refused to sign the new contract, whilst supporters wonder if they will ever learn the full truth of exactly what is going on.
"I read his comments with interest and I look forward to sitting down with him," said Boothroyd to the CT." I have very set rules on what people should be saying through the papers.
"Every week I do a press conference and am asked questions about Keiren and whether he has signed, and all I have done is said what I think, and I will be doing the same thing when I meet up with him again when he returns from international duty when we'll have a chat. It is as simple as that."
Boothroyd has made his displeasure clear to Westwood by relegating the usual first choice 'keeper to the bench and selecting his on loan 'keeper Iain Turner as the first choice.
Boothroyd explained, "Iain has been called into the squad three times before and not played yet, but the reason he is here is because he is a terrific goalkeeper."
"Things will depend on what happens with Keiren who I have got a decision to make on, but the transfer deadline has gone now and no-one has come in for him. I know exactly what I am going to do and I will let everyone know when I have spoken to Keiren."
