According to national reports, Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd is to visit Marlon King in prison and talk about playing football when he is released.
King is currently eight months into an 18 months jail sentenance for sexually assaulting and causing actual bodily harm to a woman in December 2008.
The 30 year old former Watford and Wigan player is hoping to be allowed out under licence and play wearing an electronic tag.
The news is not likely to go down well with City supporters after 61.2% voted on a poll on this site that the Sky Blues should not be signing King.
