Former Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd will manage the Legends team in the Football For Heroes game at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Boothroyd, who was sacked by Northampton Town earlier this season and is now involved with England U20's said: “I was asked by the League Managers Association whether I’d be interested in getting involved and I think with a charity like Help for Heroes the only answer is yes. It’s such an important charity and such great work gets done by the guys and girls in the forces it’s important we give something back.
“It’s a very important charity, a very good charity, and although there are lots of people out there serving we sometimes take our forces for granted in the good work that they do.
“I had two cousins who were in the RAF. They did tours abroad but not during times of conflict, such as Northern Ireland. They go over to these places and keep the peace and make sure everything is calm in far away lands, putting their lives at risk, and we sit at home here and go about our everyday lives and don’t always realise the good works that gets done.”
Tickets for the match can be purchased in advance for £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s, with further discounts available for family and student tickets. Tickets's rise to £12 and £6 for tickets bought on the day.
