Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that he won't stand in Michael Doyle's way if he can sort himself out a move to Sheffield United.

Rumours about that Doyle who is out of contract and has been free to talk to other clubs since January 1st, has sorted himself out a two and a half year deal at Sheffield United.

With Doyle one of the biggest wage earners on Citys books, his wages at a club which continues to lost money hand over fist would soon be spent elsewhere but City boss Aidy Boothroyd was full of praise for Doyle, who was substituted yesterday in the 66th minute of the City's 2-1 defeat at QPR and told the CT:"If there is something in it then we'll have to discuss it.

"I've got a lot of time for Michael, who has been terrific for us, but I've got Aron Gunnarsson, Lee Carsley and Sammy Clingan and young players like Conor Thomas coming through.

"I can't say anything but good things about Michael Doyle but I'm sure he could get a lot more money elsewhere so it might just be right for him if that's the case."
