Former Coventry City forward Jay Bothroyd is returning to Queens Park Rangers after his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday ends on Wednesday.
Bothroyd has been at Wednesday but is returning to QPR now managed by Harry Redknapp.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, former Coventry City defender Dave Jones and current Owls boss said;
“If you look at the situation they’re in, they’ll be looking at strikers and goalscorers.
“To be honest, he hasn’t had the best of times here; he’s had a good spell and a bad spell; that can happen.
“I spoke to him today. QPR will call him back because they’re struggling, and they’re not going to help somebody else when they’re struggling themselves.
“He has all the ability in the world; he should be plying his trade at the highest level.
“Sometimes Jay..maybe his workrate and attitude..he allows his disappointment to overtake what he should be doing. Because he gets down and disappointed because either he’s not performed well or the people around him aren’t performing well, he can lose focus. That can happen to any player.
“Certainly the people here didn’t see the best of him by a long way; I’m sure he would agree with that.”
