Brentford will meet Yeovil Town in the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley on May 19th after The Bees beat Swindon Town 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the second leg of the Play-Off Semi-Final.
With the scores from the first leg level on aggregate, the Bees took a 24th minute lead through an Adam Rooney own goal from a corner.
Sixteen minutes later, Brentford had a second goal against the side managed by former Coventry City midfielder Kevin MacDonald, when Clayton Donaldson got the ball on his left and scored with a low shot from the edge of the area.
In the 44th minute, Swindon came back when Adam Rooney was left unmarked to score from eight yards.
Seventy five seconds into the second half, Clayton Donaldon broke down the right and scored with a neat finish to make it 3-1 to Brentford.
Swindon sent on former Coventry City youngster James Collins and the Robins, watched by a crowd of 9,109, pulled another goal back in the 57th minute when Joe Devera fired in from six yards.
Despite plenty of effort, there were no more goals until the fifth minute of stoppage time when Aiden Flint headed in from a corner to send the match into extra time.
In the tenth minute of the first period of extra time, Swindon were reduced to ten men when Nathan Bryne was sent off for a second bookable.
There were no further goals so it went to penalties. Swindon went first through Joe Devera and scored at the Ealing Road terrace end. Saunders scored for Brentford and Aiden Flint stepped up and scored, despite slipping and then Paul Hayes scored to level it at 2-2.
James Collins took Swindon's third penalty and scored with Harley Dean doing the same for The Bees.
Swindon's Miles Storey had his saved followed by Tony Craig scoring to put Brentford ahead. Gary Roberts scored for Swindon. Now it was the decisive penalty and Adam Forshaw scored to see Brentford making the six mile journey to Wembley.
