Michael Briscoe is relishing the challenge of first team football at Macclesfield Town after being released by the Sky Blues.
He said "Brian Horton came to watch me play for Coventry's reserve team quite a few times last season. He approached me to play for Port Vale last season when he was there but I wanted to stay at Coventry to try and force my way into the first team. But that didn't happen and I'm delighted to have been taken on by a club where I can get some first-team football under my belt."
"I played in a trial match at Macclesfield towards the end of last year and I trained with them for a couple of weeks. Brian had seen me play a few times last season and he offered me a deal there which I had to take because I'm really hungry for first-team football."
