Bristol City gained no ground in the Championship table after losing 1-0 at Reading in one of only two Championship games played this afternoon.

Bristol City were eight points ahead of Coventry City going into the game and it stayed that way thanks to Cyrille Regis's nephew Jason Roberts scoring the only goal of the game on his Royals debut in the 58th minute, two minutes after former Coventry City defender Lous Carey had been sent off.

In the other game, Portsmouth, who have had a horrendous week facing a Winding Up petition, a possible points deduction and the selling of their players, won 3-0 at Peterborough United.
