Bristol City have contacted Coventry City to express their condolences following the death of City supporter Graham Beal who was killed returning from Ashton Gate on Saturday.
A message on the Bristol City official website reads: "Group Managing Director Doug Harman has written to Coventry expressing the club's sadness at the news.
"Although our clubs enjoy a healthy rivalry on the pitch, incidents such as this serve to remind us that when a member of the wider football family is taken from us, especially at such an early age, we all share the sense of loss that their friends and family must be feeling.
"On behalf of all Bristol City supporters and everyone here at Ashton Gate, we pass on our sincere condolences to Graham's family, and to everyone at Coventry City FC."
A minute's applause was held in memory of the 22 year season ticket hlder from Atherstone before City's 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest last night.
