Leonard Brody, one of the more recently appointed directors of Coventry City has taken a swipe at those directors who had run the club prior to his arrival as a way of defending the current owners Sisu.
The businessman, who is more internet savvy than his predecessors, has bee Tweeting to Coventry City fans about the financial mess the club once again finds itself in.
Despite repeatedly saying that all of the board members, past and present have a good working relationship, he has now stated that the previous people in charge failed to do their job, which is why the club is in exactly the same position now as it was when Sisu took over the club in December 2007.
Brody said at the press conference: "We all have good relationships with Ray Ranson and Gary Hoffman and their support was very helpful to the club, but at the end of the day we didn't get where we wanted to be and it's time for a new era."
"You are measured by your results. In three years and £30 million where did it get you? virtually in the same place. Somebody has to be accountable."
"The fingers can't be pointed at the investors; the fingers have to be pointed at the people responsible for running it. You don't see CEOs of companies turning round and blaming their investors for lack of performance."
"That doesn't come from the investor, it comes from the team that was responsible for stewarding this club for the community. And the results weren't there. We mustn't sugar coat this; people should know the truth."
"What you were witnessing was three years of a dispute between shareholders, people who had different visions and different ideas about where the club was and what they wanted to do. The key difference here is unity."
"You now have the shareholders dispute resolved and a new board that is committed not only to the team but also to the community.
"I'm saddened to hear fans think we've lost the brand but we are moving forward with one vision and we will be judged on those results. I'm not interested in pointing fingers, I'm just interested in getting stuff done."
He said: "The communications to the media from this board has been deplorable and I want to take that to being the best club in England in terms of its reach and communication with its fan base. It's not us and them, the decisions made here must be made in partnership with the fans."
